FAQs

What is microcement?

Microcement is a cement based coating which can be applied thinly (approximately 2-3mm) to a range of different surfaces including tile and wood. It provides the look and feel of concrete at a fraction of the cost and weight of real concrete.

Is microcement cheaper than tiling?

Microcement is cheaper than tiles because it can be applied directly over existing surfaces. This means that you don't need to remove your old flooring or wall coverings, which can save on labour and disposal costs.

Does microcement crack?

Unlike other coatings, microcement stands out as a very durable material that does not crack. Its properties are not lost with the passage of time, but it continues to be a coating that is highly resistant to traffic, knocks, scratches and sunlight, among many others.

Is microcement water proof

Microcement is a fine-grain coating made from cement and admixtures that is applied in 2-3 very thin layers to a maximum of 3mm to achieve a seamless look in a wide range of areas including showers, countertops and basins. It is extremely durable and highly water-resistant.

How do you clean microcement?

PH neutral cleaner is the product for cleaning microcement par excellence. Diluted in water, you can scrub the micro-cement floor or wipe it with a damp cloth on walls or micro-cement basins. This not only cleans the surface, but also maintains the quality and condition of the microcement. Avoid cleaning products such as chlorine, bleach, ammonia, soaps and detergents in general, as they can damage the protective film.

Can you walk on microcement?

It has a pleasant temperature so you will not feel cold when your bare feet come into contact with the floor. It has no joints and is completely smooth, making microcement flooring not only pleasant to the touch, but also safe. There is no chance of injury.
